Keia McSwain, Black Interior Designers Network
Keia McSwain is president of the Black Interior Designers Network and principal designer of Kimberly + Cameron Interiors. The Black Interior Designers Network, founded in 2010, is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within the interior design industry by highlighting designers of color and supporting black designers with business development opportunities. In 2017 McSwain stepped up to the role of president to further elevate and serve designers of color nationwide, from her home base of Denver, CO. With the goal of ultimately closing the opportunity and income gap of the minority community, McSwain works with interior designers, manufacturers and media entities to showcase the breadth of black interior designers’ creativity, influence and professional contributions. The result is a robust, supportive community of over 200 members (and growing!) who are breaking glass ceilings in the design industry. In the past year, McSwain has fostered national media campaigns and the industry’s first-ever all-black digital designer showhouse, capturing the attention of millions of design aficionados across North America and beyond. McSwain’s dedication to promoting diversity is changing the dynamic of the interior design industry in a profoundly positive way!
