Cheri Belz is an award-winning architect, developer, real estate investor, and licensed broker with over 35 years of experience. Belz is in solo practice and designs custom homes in a modern, organic, mid-century style. As a developer and investor, she’s designed and built numerous spec homes, and as a broker she helps clients buy and sell homes throughout Boulder, Broomfield, Niwot, and Denver.
Her architecture has been featured in both local and national magazines and she’s received awards for mid-century modern historic preservation and Home Builders Association of Denver design awards.
Belz’s perspective is that one’s home is the merging of the spirit of the place with the spirit of the person. Each home, with a unique flow of forms and spaces, is approached with a deep respect for the environment, incorporating passive solar gain and using natural regional materials. Designs are site specific, with the form and scale of the project carefully integrated into the landscape.
Belz moved to Boulder in 1977 with a degree in Fine Arts/Art and Architectural History from New College in Sarasota, Florida, and received her Master of Architecture from CU, Denver in 1987. She is architecturally licensed in Colorado (and formerly in D.C., Utah, and Texas).
